SUBJECT: River Lodge Conference Center and Fortuna Monday Club Monthly Report for February 2023
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Receive report as an informational item.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The River Lodge and Monday Club held 28 events in the month of February.
There were four scheduled monthly meetings between the two facilities. Rotary has been holding their weekly meetings at the Monday Club, due to the River Lodge becoming increasingly less available on Thursdays.
The Fortuna Volunteer Fire Department held their annual dinner at River Lodge.
CalFire held one training this month and CalTrans was at River Lodge for a two-day meeting.
One wedding took place at River Lodge. The backdrop was exquisite with the snow covered mountains in the background. Yes, the couple held the ceremony outside, on a sunny, brisk Saturday afternoon.
The Scottish Rite held their annual Shrimp Feed and raised money to go towards building a language center for children in Fortuna.
There were two other large events at River Lodge in FebruaryAn employee retreat, hosted by St. Joseph’s / Providence and the Native Sons annual dinner.
The State of the City Breakfast took place at River Lodge and was well attended.
There were other events at Monday Club that included LifeLine screenings, a Rotary training, a birthday party, a celebration of life and a baby shower.
