EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The River Lodge and Monday Club held a total of 30 events in the month of August.
Sandra Dale, of the Fortuna Union High School, finished a four-day conference for agriculture teachers. Teachers from as far away as southern California, came to take part in this very enthusiastic training. The conference ended with s’mores and a bonfire on the last night.
Sandra Dale hosted another event in August also. She coordinates the staff development day for the Fortuna Union High School teachers. This is the second year for both of these events.
There were four Celebrations of Life and one Wedding held in the month of August. All of these events took place at River Lodge.
River Lodge, in coordination with Hops in Humboldt and Wendt Construction, hosted the August Chamber mixer at River Lodge. The beach theme followed the theme for Hops in Humboldt and many of the guests dressed in their finest beach attire. This turned out to be a very fun event.
The California League of Cities held a meeting and dinner at River Lodge. The event was coordinated by Mayor, Tami Trent. The evening ended with an amazing sunset, and the perfect backdrop for photos.
The California Department of Fish and Game Commission held a meeting at River Lodge. The two-day event was televised on the internet. The entire production was quite impressive with cameras, television prompters, large screens to view participants in attendance via Zoom, and a sound system. There was a field trip to tour the Bull Creek Hamilton Reach Instream and Floodplain Habitat also. The IT team was pleased with our capabilities and I am hoping that we can host this group again in the future.
For the first time, our outdoor area was reserved for a birthday party. Cameron Mull and I decided during the months of Covid-19 that it could be beneficial to offer an outside area only, rental.
