SUBJECT: Public Hearing: Consider the Adoption of an Amendment to the Building Department Fees Previously Adopted for Fiscal Year 2023/2024; Adoption of Resolution 2023-29
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Approve amending the previously adopted Building Department Fees through the adoption of Resolution 2023-29.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
On June 5, 2023, the City Council adopted the Building Department Fees for Fiscal Year 2023/2024 through the adoption of Resolution 2023-13.
Staff is recommending an amendment to the previously adopted fee resolution. The amendment includes fees that were adopted with Resolution 2023-762, the Construction and Demolition Debris Diversion Ordinance, which was adopted subsequently to this year’s budget approval.
The fees included in the amendment and added to the schedule of fees previously adopted are as follows:
CONSTRUCTION & DEMOLITION DEBRIS DIVERSION FEES
Administrative $ 175.00
Qualifying Covered Residential Deposit* $ 500.00
Qualifying Covered Nonresidential Deposit*
Greater of
0.25% or
$500.00
Appeals-Staff Level $ 250.00
Appeals-City Council Level $ 500.00
*Upon project completion and the determination of compliance with Ordinance 2023-762 by the Building Official, deposits will be refunded.
RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION:
1. Receive staff report and review questions with staff;
2. Open Public Hearing
3. Close Public Hearing; voice vote.
4. Motion the Adoption of Resolution 2023-29 - Amending the Building Fees and read by title only. Roll call vote.
