SUBJECT: Approval of Memorandum of Understanding between City of Fortuna and Fortuna Union High School District for Shared Facility Use STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between City of Fortuna and Fortuna Union High School District (FUHSD) for facility use.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The City and the FUHSD have had a long standing agreement to share facilities for the use of each entity including Hardball Field #1 at Newburg Park and the High School Gymnasium. The only changes to this MOU include the clarification that the area used for batting cages adjacent to Hard Ball Field #1 will also be maintained by the high school. As a part of the agreement the high school uses and maintains Hardball Field #1 for high school baseball and the City uses the gymnasium for adult recreation basketball. The period of use is from February 1 through May 31st.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no direct fiscal impact from approval of this MOU other than a mutual sharing of facilities.
RECOMMENDED BOARD ACTION:
Approve the MOU between City of Fortuna and FUHSD for shared facility use. Consent Agenda vote.
