SUBJECT: Appoint Real Property Negotiator for the City of Fortuna Concerning the Real Property Located at 624 Main Street, Fortuna CA
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Appoint the City Manager as the real property negotiator for the City of Fortuna concerning the real property owned by Ray Chisum located at 624 Main Street, Fortuna CA.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
In accordance with Government Code Section 54956.8, the legislative body of a local agency shall hold an open and public session in which it identifies its negotiators, the real property or real properties which the negotiations may concern, and the person or persons with whom its negotiators may negotiate.
Ray Chisum, the property owner of 624 Main Street approached the City and has expressed interest in selling his property adjacent to the Monday Club to the City for uses associated with the Monday Club. This property has the potential to be a valuable asset to the City.
The City Manager or City Attorney have been appointed as the real property negotiator in the past.
In this case, the recommendation is that the City Manager be appointed the real property negotiator.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no direct fiscal impact from this action.
RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION:
Appoint the City Manager as the real property negotiator for the City of Fortuna concerning the real property owned by Ray Chisum located at 624 Main Street, Fortuna CA. Consent Agenda vote.
