SUBJECT: Council Review and Approval of Commission/Committee Applications and Mayor’s Appointment of Seats
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Review applications for the Parks & Recreation Commission and Measure E Oversight Committee.
Discuss and consider approving the Mayor’s appointments for 2024.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Below are the open Commission/Committee seats. A copy of the applications received are attached for review.
Parks & Recreation Commission:
Three (3) of the five Parks & Recreation Commission seats are vacant as of December 31, 2023.
The City received three applications:
Darrell Jackson (re-appointment)
Patricia Gomez-Gillard
Frank Mathes
The term of office for Parks & Recreation Commissioner is three (3) years and if selected, the appointments will expire on December 31, 2027.
Measure E Oversight Committee:
One (1) of the seven seats on the Measure E Oversight Committee is vacant as of December 31, 2023.
The City received one application:
Martin Morris (re-appointment)
The term of office for this seat on the Measure E Oversight Committee is two (2) years.
RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION:
Motion to Approve Mayors Appointments for Committees/Commissions. Consent Calendar vote.
