SUBJECT: Police Department Monthly Report for February 2025 Staff Recommendation:
Receive staff report as an informational item.
Patrol Statistics:
During the month of February 2025, the Fortuna Police handled 1,173 calls for service. 60 arrests were made including 17 felony arrests and 43 misdemeanor arrests. A total of 53 citations were issued for traffic offenses or other miscellaneous criminal violations.

Staffing:
The Police Department is currently down four (4) sworn officer positions. Communications is fully staffed.
• Police Officer Trainee Karlee Humphrey is currently finishing the second phase of the Field Training Program.
• Fortuna Police Cadet’s Seth Watson and Jonathan Jordan have begun the second mod of their academy training at the College of the Redwoods.
• The police department is actively seeking another candidate for the academy sponsorship program.
Department Trainings/Business Meetings/Conferences:
• Sgt. Charlton continues to attend the Sherman Block Supervisors Leadership Institute in Folsom CA.
