SUBJECT: Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account Project List; Resolution 2025-05 STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Resolution 2025-05 of the City Council of the City of Fortuna designating projects to be funded by the Road Maintenance and Rehabilitation Account (RMRA) during Fiscal Year 2025-26.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
To be eligible for funding from the passage of SB1, the City must formally adopt a list of projects to be completed and forward that list to the California Transportation Commission (CTC) by July 1st each year. Staff have prepared a list of projects in a format acceptable to CTC and included it as an attachment.
To ensure that RMRA funds are spent appropriately, the City must also report on which projects were ultimately completed. It is important to note that there is no requirement that the annual list of anticipated projects matches the list of projects completed. If additional funding becomes available or if emergency projects arise, the two lists may differ. Additionally, if during the Cities budget process different projects are identified by the Council as a higher priority than the ones adopted with the attached resolution the City can change the projects with no repercussions.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The projects included on the attached list are identified in the draft 2025-26 fiscal year budget through the Capital Improvement Program. If not funded through RMRA these projects would either not be completed or would have to be funded through other funds and other projects would not be completed.
RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION:
Adopt Resolution 2025-05. Consent Agenda Vote.
