~Background~
I was born and raised in Humboldt Co., and graduated from Fortuna High. My wife and I own a business in downtown Fortuna, and we have a daughter that has grown up here and is currently a freshman at Fortuna High. We are enjoying Fortuna currently, I have good memories of Fortuna's past, and I hope to see the community thrive in the future. ~Qualifications~
BS in Biochemistry from the University of Chicago and licensed real estate broker. Small business owner for over 20 years. Understanding of GAAP accounting guidelines, and experience working with a budget to do more with less. Currently the chairman of Rohner Community Recreation and Parks District, and a board member of Fortuna High School District Site Council. ~Interests~
I'm interested in giving back to the community. It's easy to take for granted the benefits we receive from the City, and to criticize the negatives. I would rather be in a situation to help expand on what's working and find solutions to what isn't. If tough choices need to be made with the budget and City priorities, I'd like to contribute to that process. As for my own personal interests, I would like to see more opportunities for youth and seniors (like a public swimming pool), more affordable housing, maintaining city services and public safety, and improving pedestrian access with more and better connected sidewalks and trails.

A copy of all Applications will be attached to an Agenda. Report for consideration at a City Council meeting currently scheduled for 3:00 pm April 21, 2025 with the Applicant's telephone numbers and email address removed. Interviews will be held during the Special Meeting on April 21, 2025 applicants must be present.
