SUBJECT: Approve a Memorandum of Understanding with the Eel River Valley Officials Association
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the Eel River Valley Officials Association Memorandum of Understanding renewal.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
For several years, Eel River Valley Officials Association (ERVOA) has coordinated with Parks and Recreation to facilitate the City’s adult sports leagues.
ERVOA provides professional referee, umpire, scorekeeper, and timekeeper services for City of Fortuna’s Adult Basketball League, Adult Softball League, and Adult CoEd Softball League.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact as the adult sports league programs are cost neutral with operational costs determining team league fees and have been included in the Fiscal Year (FY) 25-26 budget.
RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION:
Motion to approve an MOU with the Eel River Valley Official’s Assocation. Consent Agenda vote.
ALTERNATIVES TO STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
To not approve the renewal of the Eel River Valley Officials Association Memorandum of Understanding and this would leave the City’s Parks and Recreation Department without referee, umpire, scorekeeper, and timekeeper services for basketball and softball. This is not recommended.
