This letter is to ask you to decide to transfer, via the bidding process you have set up, the River Lodge to the Fortuna Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber was formed to promote and support local individuals and businesses that join together to enhance the economic growth of the greater Fortuna community and that of the Eel River valley community. The Fortuna Chamber will be an exceptional partner with the City of Fortuna and our community.
It is also imperative that you consider in your decision process the numerous businesses and individuals who have contributed financially to the building, the property purchase, and the passion of those who donated large sums of money to the construction of the remarkable river-side facility. I admit that MariLou and I are a couple of those souls.
Please allow the Fortuna Chamber and their executives be the responsible organization to control the River Lodge now and in the future. This was built for the future and not the short knee jerk decision of now.
