A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FOSTER CITY
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A MASTER SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH FLOCK SAFETY TO RETAIN AN EXISTING ANNUAL FEE THROUGH FY 27-28
FOR ALL EXISTING AUTOMATED LICENSE PLATE READER EQUIPMENT AND
SERVICES
CITY OF FOSTER CITY
WHEREAS, on March 15, 2021, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2021- 34 authorizing an agreement with Flock Safety for the licensing and maintenance of twenty (20) Automated License Plate Readers in the amount $13,334 for the initial term of two (2) months, followed by $50,000 for the renewal terms of twelve (12) months; and WHEREAS, the Foster City Police Department can retain the existing annual fee paid to Flock Safety for existing automated license plate reader equipment and services through the proposed contract term of December 31, 2023 – June 30, 2028; and WHEREAS, Flock Safety has increased annual fees by 20%, which will not impact the Foster City Police Department through the duration of the proposed contract; and WHEREAS, fees paid to Flock Safety during the contract term will total $270,164 if the contract is not entered into and $225,000 if the contract is entered into, a total savings of $45,164; and
WHEREAS, no changes in equipment and services will be experienced as a result of entering into the proposed contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foster City does hereby authorizes the Mayor to execute a Master Services Agreement, with Flock Safety LLC to enter into the multi-year contract beginning December 31, 2023 and terminating June 30, 2028.
