RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE A REQUEST FOR
PROPOSAL / QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PARKS MASTER PLAN (CIP 301-682).
CITY OF FOSTER CITY
WHEREAS, a Park Master Plan (Plan) is a planning and visioning tool that will guide City decision-makers in the planning, development and/or rehabilitation, maintenance, and funding of Foster City’s parks for the next 20-30 years; and WHEREAS, development of a Parks Master Plan would benefit from a firm that has experience and knowledge in park and recreation planning, master plan preparation, project management, and effective public involvement process; and WHEREAS, in 2018, City Council and staff identified a need to take a fresh approach to the park system as Foster City’s parks are over 50 years old, and a review of the aging infrastructure would ensure that the parks system remains relevant and continues to meet user needs now and in the future; and WHEREAS, there is currently $366,641 budgeted for the Parks Master Plan (CIP 301-682); and
WHEREAS, The City Council’s authorization of the RFP/Q will allow the process of developing the City’s Parks Master Plan, which was placed on hiatus in 2019.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foster City does hereby authorize the City Manager to issue a Request for Proposal / Qualifications for the development of a Parks Master Plan (CIP 301-682).
