EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On June 12, 2023, the State of California Division of Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board made a final determination regarding a claim filed by a Foster City employee.
This determination required a payment of $132,024.76 in back wages. This amount needs to be appropriated by City Council to ensure proper funding.
BACKGROUND/ANALYSIS
On June 12, 2023, the State of California Division of Workers Compensation Appeals Board made a final determination regarding a claim filed by a Foster City employee in the case of Daniel Strambi v. City of Foster City, State of California Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, Case No. ADJ12075922. The City Council was briefed in closed session about this claim and final determination on November 6, 2023. A timely payment of $132,024.76 was required and has been processed by staff. Staff is requesting the City Council approve an appropriation of $132,025 to fund this payment.
