A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FOSTER CITY AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THREE (3) FOUR-YEAR AGREEMENTS WITH UTILITY TELECOM FOR INTERNET SERVICES AT THREE (3) CITY FACILITIES IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $225,000
CITY OF FOSTER CITY
WHEREAS, the City is increasing utilization of cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) applications and the volume of computer data continues to grow; and WHEREAS, the City’s current internet speeds are becoming a bottleneck to day- to-day business activities; and
WHEREAS, increasing the speed of the City’s internet circuits will accommodate the needs of today’s applications, and prepare us for future data needs as well; and WHEREAS, Utility Telecom has provided quotes to increase our internet speeds over a 48-month term; and
WHEREAS, comparison to CALNET pricing shows Utility Telecom’s quotes are competitive; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available in the Information Technology Internal Services Fund (#504).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foster City does hereby authorize the Mayor to execute three (3) four-year agreements with Utility Telecom, dated April 1, 2024, for Internet Services at three (3) City Facilities (City Hall, Corp Yard, and Sea Cloud Park) in a total amount not to exceed $225,000.
PASSED AND ADOPTED as a resolution of the City Council of the City of Foster City at the regular meeting held on the 1st day of April, 2024, by the following vote:
