Id like my children to be able to parƟcipate as well. I think a community garden is a wonderful idea. Even though it’s difficult for me to keep up with my own garden (I’m 80), I wd love to support those who decide to parƟcipate.
I am an experienced gardener and have found nothing but joy and love in tending to my plants!
Rodent control can be tricky.
It is a great forum to bringing community
Not my thing, but support the idea given that the gardening fees cover the variable costs
There are a lot of neglected parts of parks. Community garden should be in those areas. For example, North Killdear Park.
PLEASE WE'VE NEEDED ONE IN FC FOR A LONG TIMELU
Hope the plan is for more than 1 garden
This would be so awesome!
I do not support this. It becomes an eye sore, people don’t maintain , who pays for the water and maintaince . Look at ot
I would be extremely interested in helping plan and carry out plans for the community garden. I already raised this as a possibility on Facebook and have had at least 23 people indicate interest in parƟcipaƟng. Preserving the green space by involving community in gardening is environmentally sound and healthy for land and people.
It's a wonderful idea and i hope it happens :)
Every park should have community garden
Very nice iniƟaƟve
Looking forward
This is a fabulous idea, there are many such gardens in the SeaƩle area. I am a member of Island United UCC in Foster City. I support this garden. I was part of the inaugural Civics Academy, during our Ɵme with the recreaƟon department we discussed the potenƟal for a community garden.
I do hope one is created, because I am in a property with no backyard or front yard I do not have access to space to garden myself Excited about this potenƟal community engagement opportunity! This would be a wonderful addiƟon to our community, and happy to help if needed.
Would be great for kids to learn about gardening
it's a great way to include individuals with special needs who may have an interest in gardening. It will also gives them a chance to socialize with others!
This is a great idea!!
We suggested this years ago at a city council meeƟng, and Art Keisel shut it down!
QuesƟon 7. Security deposit for a plot why if you are asking for a materials fee already.
Community garden will benefit those who want to garden but live in apartments or condos and do not have access to property that can be used for gardening.
I fear a garden would fall into disrepair and cost too much for upkeep I think this is a great idea! Hopefully when my injuries get beƩer I can help garden!!
In my opinion a City like Foster City should have a Community Garden open to everyone!
A community garden is not just for adults but also for children! It is a great way to expose young ones to gardening, and show them the rewards of paƟence and tending to something.
Very excited that FC is considering a community garden as many residents of FC rent or have condos without space to garden.
If a community garden is built, I believe the open space in Pompano Circle would be a great place as it easily accessible for people to walk through and has plenty of space to build miscellaneous structures such as fountains, benches, sheds, etc.
I have hoped Foster City would start a community garden for a long Ɵme. I love working in my own garden. It is very relaxing. I love to see plants and flowers grow.
Hey there! My name is Melody Liu and I am currently a high school junior at Aragon High School. The prospect of creaƟng a community garden has been on my mind for a long Ɵme and I had been planning on pitching the idea someƟme, but it's fantasƟc that the city is already considering it! I have a lot of plans and ideas that I am eager to contribute and I am ready to be acƟvely involved in planning and implementaƟon of this garden in our community. I envision this community garden as more than just a project— it's a space where our community can truly thrive, where people can create meaningful relaƟonships with others and build healthy, sustainable pracƟces. I am wholeheartedly commiƩed to making this vision a reality and if you share the same enthusiasm, I'd love to collaborate together.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
This is a great idea! Yes please :)
I would also encourage the city to plant more trees. The middle barriers between streets have very ugly trees and bushes.
Already started with Hydroponics due to the restricted space in my apartment. I would like to learn more about gardening and how I can connect this to my engineering skills.
The reason l personally could not have a plot is that I am handicapped due to having Parkinson's for 13+ years.
This is a great iniƟaƟve for FC to bring neighbors and members of this community together!
My daughter would probably parƟcipate so I answered 1-2 quesƟons for her.
This may be an acƟvity to have one bed for the members of the Foster City Village.
quesƟons 7 and 8 are big if for me.
This is a great idea!
Great idea!
