Citizens Sustainability Advisory Committee (CSAC)
2024 Mission Statement and Goals
Mission Statement: To serve in an advisory capacity at the pleasure of the City Council. The Citizens Sustainability Advisory Committee advises the City Council on sustainability issues facing Foster City regarding Environmental, Economic, or Social sustainability and researches, reviews, and provides comments on proposed programs and initiatives.
1. Support City Staff in promoting and implementing the City’s Updated Climate Action Plan
•Assist City staff to develop and implement Year One CAP Initiatives •Develop pilot programs to test the “Social-Based Marketing” concept to help achieve behavioral changes
2.Continue to seek out and promote sustainability best practices to the Foster City Community
•Build on first-year CSAC successes in community engagement •Promote sustainability initiatives to the business community
3.Continue to seek partnerships to collaborate across local organizations
•Seek future collaborations with Youth Advisory Committee and Parks and Recreation Committee members
•Partner with local organizations to promote sustainable living
