A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE ESTERO MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF $639,525.79 FROM FUND ACCOUNT NO. 401-0960-461-4384 FOR THE PURCHASE OF A VAC- CON HYDRO EXCAVATOR FROM MUNICIPAL MAINTENANCE EQUIPMENT, INC.
AND FINDING THAT THE PROJECT IS CATEGORICALLY EXEMPT PURSUANT TO
THE CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT (CEQA) GUIDELINE SECTION 15301(B) – EXISTING FACILITIES
ESTERO MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
WHEREAS, vacuum trucks are the most time and energy efficient way to hydro excavate in order to expose the EMID’s underground utilities for emergency repair or routine maintenance; and
WHEREAS, hydro excavation reduces the risk of injury for staff compared to hand excavating; and
WHEREAS, purchasing a second vacuum truck will enable two crews to be deployed simultaneously and will also provide redundancy in the event that one unit is down for repair or maintenance; and
WHEREAS, funding is available for the purchase in the FY 2023-2024 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of the Estero Municipal Improvement District does hereby authorize the purchase of a new vacuum truck from Municipal Maintenance Equipment, Inc., in the amount of $639,525.79 from Fund Account 401-0960-461-4384.
