FOR THE LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES 2024 ANNUAL
CONFERENCE
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council, by Minute Order, appoint one voting delegate and two alternates to be present at the League of California Cities (“Cal Cities”) Annual Conference General Assembly Meeting to be held on Friday October 18.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Cal Cities’ 2024 Annual Conference is scheduled for October 16-18. An important part of the Annual Conference is the Annual General Assembly Meeting, where member cities can take action on resolutions that establish Cal Cities policy. The General Assembly is comprised of one voting delegate from each member city. Each city may also appoint alternate voting delegates, who may vote in the event that the designated voting delegate is unable to serve in that capacity. Cal Cities has advised City Council to take action to designate voting delegates by September 25, 2024.
Vice Mayor Stacy Jimenez is the City’s alternate Representative/Liaison to Cal Cities and Mayor Patrick Sullivan is the City’s Representative/Liaison.
Four members of the City Council have signed up to attend the conference. See attached Memorandum from Cal Cities regarding designation of voting delegates and alternates.
