A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FOSTER CITY
AUTHORIZING THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO PURCHASE A ONE-YEAR MAINTENANCE RENEWAL FROM INTRADO IN THE AMOUNT OF $18,714.72 TO MAINTAIN THE EXISTING DISPATCH CUSTOMER PREMISE EQUIPMENT (CPE); AND AUTHORIZING APPROPRIATION OF $18,714.72 FROM THE GENERAL FUND TO ACCOUNT 001-0630-421-4246
CITY OF FOSTER CITY
WHEREAS, on November 18, 2013, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2013-86 authorizing the Foster City Police Department to accept a 9-1-1 equipment purchase funding allotment of $154,000 from the State of California, and to enter into a contract for the purchase, installation, and maintenance of replacement 9-1-1 telephone communications equipment from Intrado in the amount not to exceed $154,000; and WHEREAS, the Department is interested in purchasing a maintenance renewal plan for the existing CPE; and
WHEREAS, the Department dispatch center relies on the CPE to receive wireless calls, landline calls, and text messages into the police dispatch 9-1-1 system; and WHEREAS, the Department CPE provides reporting and analysis information to examine and understand historical 9-1-1 system activity; and WHEREAS, Intrado will provide the purchased maintenance and service of their existing CPE as they have done for the previous ten years; and WHEREAS, the maintenance renewal period will be September 4, 2024 – September 3, 2025, and will include software protection, remote technical support, onsite support, and hardware protection service; and
WHEREAS, CPE is essential equipment and is heavily relied upon to provide necessary services to the community; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foster City does hereby authorize the purchase of a maintenance renewal plan from Intrado to maintain and service the existing police CPE for a total cost of $18,714.72, of which $18,714.72 will be reimbursed to the City by the California Office of Emergency Services 9-1-1 Branch.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the City Council authorizes an appropriation of $18,714.72 from the General Fund to Account 001-0630-421-4246. 2 5
