A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FOSTER CITY
APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF THE REQUEST FOR
PROPOSALS (RFP) FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR THE FOSTER CITY
BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN MASTER PLAN PROJECT (BPMP) AND AUTHORIZING
THE INITIATION OF THE CONSULTANT SELECTION PROCESS
CITY OF FOSTER CITY
WHEREAS, the City of Foster City is seeking qualified consultants to provide professional services for the preparation of the Foster City Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Foster City Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan Project (BPMP) aims to address bicycle and pedestrian safety and needs throughout the City; and WHEREAS, funding in the amount of $160,000 has been approved in the FY 2024- 2025 Budget for the BPMP; and
WHEREAS, the City applied for and has been awarded $80,000 in Transportation Development Authority (TDA) Article 3 grant funds from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) for the project; and
WHEREAS, with City Council approval, staff will issue the RFP and initiate the consultant selection process.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foster City does hereby:
1. Approve the attached RFP for professional engineering services for the Foster City Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan Project in a form substantially similar to the one attached to the staff report for this agenda item;
2. Authorize the issuance of the Request for Proposal with minor amendments that may be made by the City Manager and City Attorney; and
3. Authorize the initiation of the consultant selection process. 2 7
