A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FOSTER CITY
AUTHORIZING ISSUANCE OF A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR KITEBOARD
LESSONS, RETAIL, RENTAL AND DEMONSTRATIONS AT BAYWINDS PARK FROM MARCH 1, 2025 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2027 WITH OPTIONAL EXTENSIONS THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2029
CITY OF FOSTER CITY
WHEREAS, Foster City has offered windsurfing and kiteboarding concessions at East Third Avenue for the purpose of providing lessons, retail, rental and demonstrations for both experienced and inexperienced participants for over twenty years; and WHEREAS, concession agreements are time limited to give both the City and the concessionaire the opportunity to evaluate the service and its terms and to provide an opportunity for other organizations to be considered to provide the service; and WHEREAS, the current concession agreements with Wind Over Water LLC and the Kite School expire on December 31, 2024; and
WHEREAS, issuing an RFP that permits multiple vendors at the site offers the flexibility to award the concession in a way that optimally utilizes the space and provides the best service to the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foster City does hereby authorize the issuance of a Request for Proposals for Kiteboard Lessons, Retail, Rental And Demonstrations at Baywinds Park from March 1, 2025 through December 31, 2027 with optional extensions through December 31, 2029.
