A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FOSTER CITY
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A THREE-YEAR AGREEMENT WITH PACKET FUSION, INC. TO PURCHASE HARDWARE AND ZOOM PHONE SUBSCRIPTIONS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $110,000
CITY OF FOSTER CITY
WHEREAS, the City’s current Shoretel phone system was purchased in 2013 and is due for replacement; and
WHEREAS, Mitel has announced the planned end-of-life for all Shoretel premise- based PBXs by 2029; and
WHEREAS, a Request for Proposals for a phone system replacement was released on May 7, 2024; and
WHEREAS, after a rigorous evaluation process, Zoom Phone from Packet Fusion was determined to have the best functionality; and
WHEREAS, the Zoom Phone proposal also had the lowest annual cost for a cloud- based proposal; and
WHEREAS, Zoom Phone will provide a reliable communications platform to support the City’s operations; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds are available in the Information Technology Internal Services Replacement Fund (#504-0160-419-4388).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foster City does hereby authorize the Mayor to execute a three-year agreement with Packet Fusion, Inc. to purchase hardware and Zoom Phone subscriptions in an amount not to exceed $110,000.
