A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE ESTERO MUNICIPAL
IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT ADOPTING A CODE OF CONDUCT FOR ELECTED AND
APPOINTED OFFICIALS
ESTERO MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
WHEREAS, on November 2, 2020, the EMID Board of Directors adopted EMID Resolution No. 3543, a Code of Conduct for elected and appointed officials; and WHEREAS, on December 13, 2021, the EMID Board of Directors discussed amending, suspending or rescinding the Code of Conduct and voted 3-2 to rescind EMID Resolution No. 3543; and
WHEREAS, on January 21, 2025, President Jimenez requested a future agenda item to reintroduce a Code of Conduct for the EMID elected and appointed officials; and WHEREAS, on March 10, 2025, the EMID Board of Directors met at a study session and provided direction to staff on a draft Code of Conduct; and WHEREAS, the EMID Board of Directors wishes to re-establish a Code of Conduct to ensure that all elected and appointed officials have a clear and common vision of the norms, rules, and responsibilities or proper practices within the organization; and WHEREAS, if all members manifest these practices in their attitudes and behavior, officials, while exercising their office, will conduct themselves in a manner that will instill public confidence and trust in the fair operation and integrity of the District’s governance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of the Estero Municipal Improvement District does hereby adopt a Code of Conduct for elected and appointed officials.
