REPORT AND REVIEW OF MISSION STATEMENT AND GOALS FOR
2025
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council, by Minute Order, review and accept the Citizens Sustainability Advisory Committee (CSAC) 2024 Year End Report (Attachment 1), and Mission Statement and 2025 Goals (Attachment 2) and provide direction to the committee on other Council initiatives or priorities for the upcoming year.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Citizens Sustainability Advisory Committee has prepared a written Year-End Report for 2024 and Goals for 2025 and reviewed its Mission Statement for the City Council's review and acceptance.
BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS
Pursuant to Minute Order No. 802, each citizen advisory committee must prepare a written year-end report, review its mission statement, and prepare a written annual goals/work program for the upcoming year for presentation to the City Council at a City Council meeting in the first quarter of each year. Due to staff oversight, the CSAC 2025 Goals and 2024 Accomplishments discussion was not agendized in time to meet the first quarter deadline. CSAC Members approved 2025 goals at the February 12, 2025, Regular Meeting, discussed 2024 Accomplishments at the April 28, 2025, Special
Meeting, and approved the final 2024 Year-End Report and Mission Statement and 2025 Goals at the May 19, 2025, Special Meeting.
CSAC’s Mission Statement for 2025 remains unchanged from 2024 and is as follows:
The Citizens Sustainability Advisory Committee shall advise the City Council on sustainability issues facing Foster City regarding Environmental, Economic, or Social sustainability and research, review, and provide comments on proposed programs and initiatives.
