Please state reasons and objectives for desiring to become a member of this committee/commission I have been a member of the zero waste community since 2020 and I am extremely passionate about taking strong action to address the climate crisis. I would love to be a part of the Citizen Sustainability Committee to help create a future in Foster City that reimagines our urban spaces as interconnected ecosystems. I believe in about building resilient, people-centered communities that prioritize sustainability, equity, and shared resources. Where walkability, green infrastructure, and mutual aid are not just ideals, but everyday realities. I believe we can create spaces where sustainable technology harmonizes with nature and community thrives through collaboration, local stewardship, and inclusive design. I've attended several committee meetings over the past few years, and would be so excited to take a larger role in the committee. Thank you so much for your time!

Please state reasons and objectives for desiring to become a member of this committee/commission As a decade long resident of Foster City, I have a genuine desire to protect and improve Foster City's environment and the quality of life for its residents. Including conserving natural resources, reducing waste, or promoting renewable energy. I’m commitment to contributing to the community's well-being and collaborating with fellow residents, businesses, and government to achieve shared sustainability goals. I believe in the power of community engagement to drive positive change and ensure that sustainability initiatives are inclusive and equitable. I have a desire to contribute to the implementation of the Sustainable Foster City Plan and help the city achieve its emissions reduction targets, such as decarbonizing existing buildings, increasing zero- emissions vehicle adoption and alternative energy solutions. There are sustainability challenges and opportunities facing Foster City, such as the need to adapt to climate change impacts and enhance climate resiliency. Water conservation, waste reduction, and the promotion of green infrastructure is top of mind.

Please state reasons and objectives for desiring to become a member of this committee/commission My main reason to join the Citizens Sustainability Advisory Committee is my love for Foster City. I first moved here in 2021, renting with my partner, and we loved it so much we bought our first home here in December 2023. I was a member of the inaugural civics academy where I learned and saw first-hand the hard work and dedicated people that make this city so great. I hold a PhD in Environmental Systems and currently work as a Climate, Hazard, and Resilience Scientist investigating and working on issues that pertain to climate risk and residential real estate. With federal cuts to climate and sustainability related funding I feel a deep urge to be more involved and be a more active participant for the good of our community. The phrase “Tend to the garden you can touch” resonates with me; Foster City is my garden and I want to take an active part in its Sustainability efforts. Given my deep knowledge of climate and sustainability I want to use my expertise towards helping this community that I love.
