Dear Mr. Vencook:
Let this be our follow up of our phone conversation and email on June 30, 2025 from Lae L. Kline regarding the penalty fee listed in the invoice, copy herewith. After discussion it was determined that there was an appeal process and that is the reason for this letter. Our firm was hired to prepare preliminary plans that were presented to the city by my client, Tandoori Pizza-Foster City. Though we were not in attendance, directions were presented to prepare full building permit sets for building and health permits. We proceeded immediately and submitted plans on June 5, 2025 receiving comments and an invoice and comments on June 30, 2025. Plan check fees were paid with the request for an appeal to consider the $9,096.53 penalty for proceeding with work without a permit. Upon review with clients and contractor only no structural demolition was proceeded with while waiting for permit issuance. A Waste Management Plan dated May 30, 2025, enclosed herewith, was in process. All work stopped, according to the contractor. Please consider this appeal to eliminate that fee with the final permit fees to be paid at permit issuance. Thank you for your consideration. sincerely
