Please state reasons and objectives for desiring to become a member of this committee/commission I believe Foster City to be a very well-run city that makes excellent use of its financial resources. We are in the lucky position of having active civil society partners who support this. This is not achieved without diligent work on the part of finance officers, auditors and the audit committee. My experience as a business person, management consultant, and leader of public-sector and non-profit organizations, coupled with my MBA and experience as an investor will allow me to contribute to maintaining the strong performance of our city. Moreover, as someone who lives and works in the city, I have the on-the-ground knowledge to understand the reality of the city's activities, not just the numbers on the page. I am keen to contribute more to the life of our community and I see this as a great opportunity to leverage my unique skills and background to do so.

I am applying to serve on the Foster City Audit Committee because I believe strong governance and transparent financial oversight are the foundation of public trust. My career in operational and compliance risk management has centered on exactly those principles. This ensures that institutions not only meet their regulatory obligations but also uphold the confidence of the communities they serve. I want to contribute that same commitment to Foster City, where accountability and fiscal discipline directly affect the quality of life for every resident.
For more than two decades, I have worked at the intersection of finance, regulation, and technology, most recently as Vice President of Operational & Compliance Risk Management at Visa Inc. This experience has given me a deep appreciation for the rigor and independence required of audit functions and for the value of asking the right questions in the public interest. My interest in joining this committee also stems from a long-standing personal commitment to governance and inclusion. Beyond professional expertise, I bring a strong orientation toward mentorship, community engagement, and education.
My objective in joining the Audit Committee is to help ensure that Foster City continues to uphold the highest standards of financial stewardship. As the city grows and evolves, it will face complex fiscal decisions involving investments in infrastructure, climate resilience, technology, and community programs. Those decisions demand clear, data- driven analysis and strong oversight of how public funds are managed and reported. I hope to bring my background in risk management, internal controls, and regulatory engagement to assist the Committee and City Council in safeguarding public resources while enabling responsible growth.
Foster City is a uniquely well-planned and forward-thinking community. My family and I chose to make our home here because of its balance between innovation, inclusivity, and quality of life. Serving on the Audit Committee would be an opportunity to give back in a way that uses my professional strengths to support the community that has given us so much. I approach this not as a résumé exercise but as a civic responsibility to help ensure that the City’s financial processes remain sound, transparent, and worthy of public confidence.
