Objectives
Please state reasons and objectives for desiring to become a member of this committee/commission As I work and live in Foster City, I spend a lot of time on the roads and believe I have a good understanding of the traffic problems and the mobility possibilities. Moreover, I am a RoSPA silver advanced driver and well aware of evolving issues in traffic safety.

Finally, I have two children at school in the city and they increasingly get there under their own steam, either by bike or on foot. I am highly motivated to ensure that Foster City's roads, sidewalks and paths are as safe and efficient as they can be for our residents.

It would be a great honor to serve the Foster City community as a board member of this committee. At a time when more diverse viewpoints are needed, I believe I can bring a distinct voice and a new perspective to the committee as a racial minority and a person with a visible disability. Helping my local. communities has always been a passion of mine --- from volunteering at my congregation growing up to my various job experiences (Congresswoman Jackie Speier’s office, Center for Independence of Individuals with Disabilities, and CA Department of Rehabilitation, GSPP Alumni Board). These opportunities have allowed me to interact with strangers from various walks of life (class, race, disability) see what concerns need to be addressed that I would not have been exposed to otherwise. I believe this insight will be valuable on this city committee of Foster City as it has consistently helped me think of fresh ideas that I can bring to the public-policy making world to positively affect people’s daily lives.

As a proud resident of Foster City for 30-years, I am aware of the issues and promise that this city has. The public policy skills I have gained throughout the years have helped connect with local residents and problem-solve in a timely manner. I have always interacted with populations that hold different viewpoints and not afraid of difficult conversations. I believe it’s important to represent all constituents. If selected to the committee, it would be a privilege to work with fellow board policy-makers to address the challenges that lie ahead and help strengthen this amazing city. Thank you for your time and consideration!

Subject: Application for Resident Member Position – Traffic Review Committee Dear City Clerk,
I am writing to express my sincere interest in serving as the Resident Member on the Foster City Traffic Review Committee. As a dedicated resident and longtime public servant, I welcome the opportunity to support Foster City’s traffic safety initiatives and contribute to the thoughtful evaluation of transportation and mobility concerns that affect our community.

The Committee’s mission to review appeals and requests from residents and staff, and to provide informed recommendations to the City Council, aligns directly with my lifelong commitment to public service, safety, and civic responsibility.

Background and Qualifications
Extensive Public Service: I served honorably in the United States Army for six years, where I developed strong leadership, operational planning, and team coordination skills.

I later continued my service to the public in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office as an Intelligence Analyst for the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (NY/NJ HIDTA) program. I then served for 24 years as a Supervisory Special Agent with the U.S.

Department of State / Diplomatic Security Service, retiring on September 30, 2025. Over the course of my federal career, I led complex investigations and enforcement operations both domestically and overseas, all with a deep commitment to community protection and interagency collaboration.

Commitment to Foster City: As a resident of Foster City, I am personally invested in the safety, livability, and efficiency of our streets and neighborhoods. I bring a practical, community-oriented perspective to traffic and mobility issues, and I care deeply about maintaining the high quality of life our residents expect and deserve.

Collaborative and Analytical Approach: My military and federal service involved working with diverse teams to assess complex challenges, manage risk, and implement effective, data-informed solutions. Having lived in multiple countries, I also bring strong cultural awareness and sensitivity, which I believe is vital in serving our diverse community.

Civic-Minded Engagement: I am a firm believer in informed, respectful civic dialogue and collaborative problem-solving. In 2019, I completed the Foster City Community Police Academy, further deepening my understanding of local law enforcement and public safety operations.

It would be an honor to serve on the Traffic Review Committee and to help shape safe, effective, and community-responsive transportation solutions for Foster City. Thank you for your time and consideration. I am happy to provide any additional information or documentation upon request.
