A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FOSTER CITY
AUTHORIZING THE SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE OF REPLACEMENT MOBILE
RADIOS FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT VEHICLES AND MOTORCYCLES FROM METRO MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS IN THE AMOUNT OF $73,463.58
CITY OF FOSTER CITY
WHEREAS, the existing mobile radios for Police Department vehicles and motorcycles were purchased in 2012 and have reached their useful life, original parts are scarce, and quality of the radios is diminished; and WHEREAS, mobile radios are essential equipment for police officers' communication, response, and officer safety; and
WHEREAS, communication, compliance, and encryption standards have evolved around the county and state; and
WHEREAS Metro Mobile Communications offers National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO) pricing under the City's Municipal Code section 3.04.08 for the mobile radios which provided pre-negotiated, low-cost pricing, eliminating the need for RFP; and
WHEREAS, funding is available and has been appropriated in the FY 2025/2026 Equipment Replacement Fund (ERF) budget, Account No. 502-0110-413-4385; and WHEREAS, additional funding of $3,463.58 was approved by the City Manager from the FY 2025/2026 Equipment Emergency Replacement Fund, Account No. 502-0110-413-4385 .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foster City does hereby authorize the sole source purchase of replacement mobile radios for police department vehicles and motorcycles from Metro Mobile Communications in the amount of $73,463.58.
