A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FOSTER CITY APPROVING A $50,000 SPONSORSHIP AGREEMENT WITH SENIOR CARE ACTION
NETWORK (SCAN) HEALTH PLAN FOR SENIOR LOUNGE FURNITURE AND
AMENITIES AT THE NEW FOSTER CITY COMMUNITY CENTER AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT; RECORD THE
SPONSORSHIP FUNDS IN FUND 116; AUTHORIZE THE TRANSFER OF $50,000 FROM FUND 116 TO CIP FUND 301 AND DESIGNATING THESE FUNDS AS AN
ADDITIONAL FUNDING SOURCE FOR THE COMMUNITY CENTER REBUILD PROJECT (CIP 301-678)
CITY OF FOSTER CITY
WHEREAS, the new Foster City Community Center will include a Senior Lounge designed as a comfortable and accessible space for socialization, wellness, and drop- in activities for older adults; and
WHEREAS, the City’s Recreation Center Rebuild Project (CIP 301-678) has budgeted sufficient funds for Senior Lounge furniture and amenities; and WHEREAS, Senior Care Action Network (SCAN) Health Plan, a nonprofit Medicare Advantage programs , has offered a $50,000 sponsorship to offset these costs, provided in two installments of $25,000 each; and
WHEREAS, acceptance of this sponsorship aligns with the City’s Sponsorship Policy and enhances the Senior Lounge for senior residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Foster City hereby approves the Sponsorship Agreement with SCAN Health Plan in the amount of $50,000 to support furniture and amenities for the Senior Lounge at the new Foster City Community Center, authorizes the City Manager to execute the agreement with minor amendments that may be approved by the City Attorney.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby approves the recording of the sponsorship funds in Foundation Fund 116 and the transfer of those funds to Capital Improvement Fund 301 as an additional funding source for the project. 4911-5496-7684 v1
