Proclamation of the
City of Foster City, California
Recognizing May 3-9, 2026
as Public Service Recognition Week
WHEREAS, Public Service Recognition Week, is an opportunity to pause and recognize the role of those that dedicate themselves to improving our community; and WHEREAS, public services help support the general public's quality of life by supplementing essential City services; and
WHEREAS, from generously volunteering their time, donating resources or sharing their skills and knowledge, the dedication of public service providers touches nearly every part of our daily lives; and
WHEREAS, public service is a noble and selfless form of contribution from individuals and organizations seeking to better their local community by advancement of the common good; and
WHEREAS, these charitable public service efforts are crucial to cultivating a thriving, diverse, and unique community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Foster City wants to recognize and honor those providing a public service that enhance our society and acknowledge their role in continuing to make Foster City a great place to live, work, and play.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, ART KIESEL, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF FOSTER CITY, ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, do hereby designate the week of May 3-9, 2026 as Public Service Recognition Week, and call upon our residents to honor and acknowledge the service of those who work on our behalf.
