1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER
Mayor Mejia called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m.

City Staff Present: City Manager Reid and City Clerk Vasquez.

7. CLOSED SESSION

Public Employee Appointment/Employment
Title: City Attorney
The meeting went into closed session at 6:06 p.m.
Councilmember Parra joined the meeting via teleconference during closed session at 6:10 p.m. Councilmember Parra made an announcement of his potential conflict due to being currently involved in a legal dispute and one of the firms/candidates being interviewed is currently representing the other party in that legal dispute. Although he believes he could be fair and not allow the opposing representation in the other matter to influence his selection of the next Fowler City Attorney, he recognizes that to avoid any appearance of bias or impropriety he should recuse himself from the process so that the interview and selection process will be fair and to avoid any potential contention that his participation in the process was improper or created a bias in favor of or against any of the firms/attorneys being interviewed and considered. Councilmember Parra left the meeting at 6:11 p.m.
8. RECONVENE INTO OPEN SESSION AND REPORT ACTION
The meeting reconvened into open session at 8:06 p.m.
There was no reportable action.

Having no further business, the special meeting was adjourned at 8:06 p.m.
