RESOLUTION NO. 2022-XX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FREMONT APPOINTING RAFAEL E. ALVARADO, JR. AS CITY ATTORNEY
WHEREAS, the Fremont Municipal Code provides for the City Council to appoint a City Attorney; and
WHEREAS, the City Council conducted an extensive recruitment for a new City Attorney, interviewed candidates on two separate occasions and conducted a thorough background and reference check process on the selected candidate, Rafael E. Alvarado Jr.; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has negotiated an employment agreement with Rafael E.
Alvarado Jr. that is acceptable to both the City and Mr. Alvarado.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FREMONT RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Council appoints Rafael E. Alvarado Jr. as City Attorney with a compensation rate of $295,000 annually to be paid $11,346.15 bi-weekly and a term commencing on February 22, 2022.
2. The City Council further authorizes the Mayor to execute the employment agreement for the City Attorney which is attached hereto as Exhibit A.
