Why do you wish to serve as a member of the Rent Review Board? I have been a contributing member of the Fremont society for over 20 years. I recognize the need to the city forward but also understand the reason it has been a successful city in comparison to other cities in the bay area. Its the most diverse city and at the same time one of the safest. The reason this is true is because its residents many of them long term is the basis for its character and we need to be concerned about gentrifying them. Unfeathered rent increases will change the city and possibly turn it into something like San Francisco. A rich city yes but with a lot of problems. I want to prevent this from happening here.
What would you bring by way of perspective or experience to the Rent Review Board? For one I know the city and seen it grow from a small farming/city to what it is today. Have been both a home owner, renter and currently a business owner. This gives me a perspective from all sides.
