American High School Science and Ecology Club since June 2022 American High School Gardening Club President
I am working with other interested students in creating a greener school environment. I am responsible for the backend work for each club meeting, which includes : creating an agenda preparing the materials, and most importantly executing the plan while working smoothly with other students.
I did not live in the U.S. for my whole life; I moved to India when I was in fourth grade, and moved back to the U.S. by middle school. India is one of the most polluted countries in the world and it struggles at disposing waste without harming the environment. However, over the time I lived there I learned that a lot of people really do worry about the waning state of the Earth. For example, the owners of the apartment complex that I lived in, planted so many trees and bushes. This experience allowed me to see India's perspective on the climate change issue and how they are tackling it. I believe that this experience will bring a different view to the commission. science and ecology club and my goal is to create awareness for the climate change issue and the need to be sustainable. the difficulties and the process to creating a sustainable city. community. Ultimately the goal is to educate students about gardening and sustainable living and show its importance in society.
The goal of the non-profit is to use the medical benefits of gardening to positively impact the Through partnerships with hospitals and old-age homes, the non-profit would provide a real life opportunity for students to learn and share with others about gardening. Not only would it be extremely beneficial to the body and mind, but it also shows students why sustainable living is important. As for my involvement, I will work on communication, partnerships, planning, and as a guide.
