Executive Summary: The purpose of this report is to facilitate the replacement of approximately 7,800 sq. ft. of existing carpet at the first floor of the Police Administration building with new vinyl tile.

BACKGROUND: The Police Administration building, located at 2000 Stevenson Blvd, is an approximately 70,930 square-feet, three-story building, constructed in 1995. The building is used by police officers, dispatchers, support staff, and department management staff. The existing carpet located in the offices and locker rooms of the first floor has reached the end of its life cycle and needs to be replaced. Vinyl tiles have a longer lifespan, increased durability, and are easier to disinfect and maintain. In the locker rooms, the new flooring will also eliminate odor from the old carpet.

Construction is anticipated to begin in April 2024 with completion expected by July 2024.

DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:

BID RESULTS: The Police Building Flooring Replacement Project was advertised in February 2024, and three bids were received on March 08, 2024. The bidders with their respective bid amounts are shown below. The Engineer’s Estimate is $160,000.

Bidder Bid Amount

1. SDM Construction $ 147,600

2. BT Mancini Co. $ 149,958
