COUNCILMEMBER KASSAN REFERRAL:
This referral requests that City Council direct staff to:
1. As expeditiously as possible ensure that the janitors that clean City of Fremont facilities are paid at or above the industry standard (Prevailing Wage) both under the current janitorial contract and under any future contracts; and
2. Establish a responsible contracting policy that includes a requirement, similar to that of other cities such as Mountain View and Palo Alto, that future bidders have a collective bargaining agreement covering employees servicing the City of Fremont.
