RESOLUTION NO. 2025-XX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FREMONT APPROVING A MEMORANDUM , OF
UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF FREMONT
AND FREMONT FIRE FIGHTERS, INTERNATIONAL
ASSOCIATION OF FIRE FIGHTERS , LOCAL 1689 (IAFF)
FOR A TERM , EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 16, 2025 ,
THROUGH JUNE 30, 2026.
WHEREAS, the Fremont Fire Fighters, International Association of Fire Fighters , Local 1689 (IAFF) and the City of Fremont have expressed a desire to continue their bargaining relationship as governed by the California Government Code Section 3500, et seq.; and
WHEREAS the parties have met and conferred in good faith in accordance with California Government Code Section 3500, et seq.; and
WHEREAS, such meetings have resulted in an agreement of a successor Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) for the period of November 16, 2025, through June 30, 2026.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Fremont as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Council approves the tentative agreement reached with IAFF for a successor MOU as outlined in the staff report dated November 18, 2025, and incorporated herein by this reference.
SECTION 2 . The City Council authorizes the City Manager to execute a successor MOU effective November 16, 2025, through June 30, 2026, and to implement the terms of the successor MOU.
