Executive Summary: The City standardizes with Cisco equipment for computer network infrastructure and needs to replace certain components due to aging equipment and/or because the vendor no longer supports the equipment or has issued notice of end of support. The City issued a Request for Bid on April 16, 2026, and received nineteen responses.
Staff is recommending that the City Council authorize the City Manager, or her designee, to issue a purchase order and to execute implementing documents with Saitech Inc., for the purchase of Cisco C9350 network equipment in the amount of $348,903.88.
Background: The City has standardized its network on Cisco equipment, consisting of switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. Several components are outdated and need to be replaced.
Discussion/Analysis: The Information Technology Services Department is responsible for managing the computer network infrastructure that departments use to access software applications and systems for conducting City business and communication. The typical useful life of network equipment components ranges from 5 to 10 years. The equipment scheduled for replacement at this time includes network switches for the City’s primary data center and wireless access points. The current equipment can no longer effectively and efficiently provide the network connectivity needed for City services.
On April 16, 2026, the City issued a Request for Bid (Bid# 26-027) for the purchase of Cisco C9350 network equipment. The City received a total of nineteen responses as follows:
