The residents need time to form a co-op to preserve their community and keep their housing safe and affordable. I recently visited the park and met and talked with a majority of the residents. I found a community of hard-working people that care about each other, their homes and Fresno. Please help them by purchasing the Trails End mobile home park.

I fully support the City of Fresno purchasing the Trails End mobile home park and without the city's intervention, it is very likely that the tenants, including children, will be evicted. This would be a tragedy for the Trail End community and for Fresno. As an educator, I implore you to think of the impact this decision will have on the children who call Trails End home.

eComment: Hi name is Maria Magana I am a resident of District 6 and I live at Trails End Mobile Home Park. I have lived at Trails End for over 16 years, and I live here with my children. Today, I would like to ask the City of Fresno to temporarily purchase Trails End while we continue to work and have conversations and commitments to work with us to permanently purchase our community. Your commitment to preserving affordable housing in our city is vital and will help ensure there is no further displacement of children, elders, and families. With your commitment we will have a safe place to come home to every night. I ask each of you to vote YES to temporarily purchase Trails End. My community is family and we have always been respectful of each other. I love my community because I grew up here and we are very supportive of each other. In the past couple of months it has been very scary and intimidating having Harmony around with their hostility. In the past couple of months I have seen my community struggle with all the changes going on good and bad since Harmony came around. Something I wish for my community is a fast and positive solution for my community so that everything can go back to normal again.

Janine Nkosi submitted a new eComment.

Meeting: City Council on 2022-04-28 9:00 AM - Regular Meeting Item: 5.-A. ID 22-643 CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - EXISTING LITIGATION Government Code Section 54956.9, subdivision (d)(1) City of Fresno v. Joan Kevorkian, et al., Fresno Superior Court Case No. 21CECG02816
eComment: My name is Janine Nkosi. I am a professor of Sociology at Fresno State and the Regional Advisor for Faith in the Valley. I have lived in Fresno for more than 20 years, raised my children here, and care very deeply about our community. We are experiencing a major housing crisis. We must do everything to preserve affordable housing in Fresno. MHPs are some of the most deeply affordable housing and the Trails End community has been working hard to preserve their homes and beautiful community. We should fully support them. I fully support the City of Fresno purchasing the Trails End mobile home park to give the Trails End community time to finalize a long-term solution for ownership of the park.

Meeting: City Council on 2022-04-28 9:00 AM - Regular Meeting Item: 5.-A. ID 22-643 CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - EXISTING LITIGATION Government Code Section 54956.9, subdivision (d)(1) City of Fresno v. Joan Kevorkian, et al., Fresno Superior Court Case No. 21CECG02816
eComment: I fully support the City of Fresno purchasing the Trails End Mobile Home Park, in order to give the residents of the community and their many supporters time to put a true long- term solution in place. My concern with a potential sale to Harmony Communities, knowing the poor living conditions and legal challenges they've brought to other communities. If that happens, we can hope that at some point we find ourselves in this process again. If the residents are able to purchase the site in a cooperative agreement, the people who are most invested in seeing this community thrive will be living in the community itself. Rev.
