Meeting: City Council on 2022-04-28 9:00 AM - Regular Meeting Item: 1.-L. ID 22-655 Actions pertaining to COVID-19 emergency: ***RESOLUTION - Confirming the termination of the local emergency related to COVID-19 (Subject to Mayor's Veto) eComment: Dear council, I appreciate the diligence that most of the council has and the leadership in protecting our community regarding COVID-19. Please oppose terminating the COVID-19 emergency order. While the numbers are down, we still have cases. We still have at- risk people and with other requirements going away, they are more at risk of getting infected by people who aren't being careful themselves. The fact that the safety measures are decreasing is more reason to continue to do what we can to protect people. Our city staff who may have health issues or live with someone who does deserve that protection. I know many who are immunocompromised and have done their due diligence and are more at-risk because of the fewer and fewer protections for them. Also, please consider how this may affect our financially vulnerable and act with wisdom.
