TOTAL BID: 674,150$
Clay Miranda Bid
Clay Miranda Trucking, Inc. (Total Bid Amount: $ 674,150.00 per year) – Clay Miranda is a Fresno based company, specializing in local agency work. They have been in business for over 35 years and are the current provider of Trucking Services for the City of Fresno.
The consensus among the committee members was that even though there was only a single bid, there were two key factors which made the bid a beneficial one for the City of Fresno. They are as follows:
• Price – Due to current global events, fuel costs have increased significantly causing many of our existing vendors to request rate increases ; in some cases, in excess of 2 5%.
However, the Clay Miranda bid represents only a 12% increase over current unit pricing. • Proven Performance with the City of Fresno – Clay Miranda has been providing Trucking Services to the City for the past five years, and have proven themselves to be extremely dependable. Providing this function is of critical importance for the Division’s ability to self-perform as the hauling off and delivery of materials is an integral part of the actual paving process.
Because of the importance of these criteria, as well as thoroughness of the completed RFP, the committee saw th e Clay Miranda proposal as uniquely qualified for award. In addition, the committee concluded that the lack of additional bids was likely due to no other vendors having the capacity to provide the City with the requested services on the scale required.
Summary Recommendat ion – After carefully reviewing the proposal , the committee unanimously agreed that Clay Miranda would adequately be able to provide the required services at the best value for the City . Therefore, the committee recommends awarding a contract for Trucking Services to Clay Miranda Trucking, Inc.
