A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRESNO, CALIFORNIA, DEFINING THE GOALS OF THE
COMMUNITY BENEFIT FUND OF THE CITY OF FRESNO
WHEREAS, Fresno Municipal Code (FMC) section 7-1403 requires that ten percent (10%) of Cannabis Business License Tax revenue be deposited into a Community Benefit Fund and be used to meet the goals of said Community Benefit Fund, which shall be established by Council through a resolution; and WHEREAS, FMC section 7-1404 created the Community Benefit Commission to recommend allocation of the revenues received into the Community Benefit Fund pursuant to the goals set forth by Council; and
WHEREAS, FMC section 7-1404 also provides that Council shall have the authority to further define the role and powers of the Commission by resolution as necessary and appropriate from time to time; and
WHEREAS, Council now wishes to set goals for the Community Benefit Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Fresno as follows:
1. The purpose of the Community Benefit Commission is to recommend allocation of the revenues received into the Community Benefit Fund pursuant to the goals set forth by Council.

2 The goals of the Community Benefit Fund include:
a. Improve infrastructure and enhance community beautification and public safety efforts in the City in the vicinity of commercial cannabis business locations and other low
income areas.
b. Support citywide efforts to analyze and improve social equity in economic development, health, and transportation needs. c. Enhance and expand citywide efforts focused on youth development, engagement, and prevention.
