RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FRESNO, CALIFORNIA, INIT IATING PROCEEDINGS FOR
THE ANNUAL LEVY OF ASSESSMENT FOR
LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT
NO. 1
WHEREAS, the City of Fresno Landscaping and Lighting Maintenance District No. 1 (“LLMD No.1”) was formed March 22, 1983, by Council Resolution No. 83-93 under the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972 (Streets and Highways Code Sections 22500- 22679) (the Act); and
WHEREAS, LLMD No.1 provides certain landscaping services in the public domain that specially benefit areas within the City of Fresno; and WHEREAS, the City of Fresno (Cit y) has subsequently levied annual assessments; and
WHEREAS, as authorized by the Act, the Council intends to initiate proceedings for levying the annual assessment for LLMD No. 1 for Fiscal Year 2023-2024.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Fresno as follows:
1. That proceedings for levy of the annual assessments for LLMD No. 1 under Chapter 3 of the Act are hereby initiated.
2. The Director of the Public Works Department, or his designee, is directed, under Section 22622 of the Act, to prepare a report in accordance with Article 4 (beginning with Section 22565) of Chapter 1 of the Act and to file the report with the City Clerk.

3. The City Clerk is directed, upon rece iving the report, to submit the report to the Council for approval.
4. This resolution shall be effective upon final approval.
