Good morning ladies and gentlemen
I am Zahra
I am a Fresno County resident
I am a teacher
I am a Fresno state alumni
I am here for Palestine, I am here for Gaza.
I am here to call for an Immediate and permanent cease fire In the history of war crimes, genocide is regarded as one of the most grave crimes against humanity.
There is NO denying, a genocide is happening right and is funded by us, the united state of America.
What is the solution?
A cease fire now. Cease sending military aid in all forms.
Money, money talks, we all work, we all want money right? A minimum of $3.8 billion Dollars is sent from OUR tax money to Israel every year.
Our money is used to kill Palestinians, our money is aiding a Genocide.
Have we not learned? Genocide is wrong. I want to remind you of the:
The Armenian Genocide (1915-1916) We had a Monument built on Fresno State Campus for remembrance The Cambodian Genocide (1975-1979) California is home to the largest population of Cambodians in the US. 6,700 live in Fresno
Will we build the Palestinians a monument as we did the Armenians? Will we Allow the few Palestinians that manage to survive the bombings to immigrate and become refugees in Fresno as we did the Cambodians? we, Fresno honor those people that died. But what about the people of Palestine/the people of Gaza, What about this current tragedy that is unfolding Infront of our eyes?
Do we remember Hiroshima and Nagasaki? SAY NO the bombing of innocent civilians What about the war on Vietnam? Say no to war. Say No to miliraty aid to israel. Say No more wars for geopolitical interest
Fresno has historically been a refugee safe heaven. Fresno is home to the second-largest population of Hmong people in the United States about 35,000.
I ask you: Are you going to stand by and doing nothing to stop this Genocide of Palestinians, this Genocide of Gaza WHICH if funded by us?
I implore you: Stand with humanity, Stand with Palestine. Say no to genocide. Say yes to a permanent cease fire.
Stop Military aid to Israel. End the Occupation, Allow humanitarian to enter and reach the Gazans the desperately need it.
In the future: Your kids, your nieces, and your nephewes will ask you: Mommy, daddy, uncle, auntie? Where were you? Where were you doing during the Palestinian geneocide? What did you do? What did you do to stop the War on the Palestinians?
Honorable Council members, Behind you is the slogan "In god we trust".
Well: One day you will die. God almighty, Your maker, your creator will ask you: what have you done? with your money? with your voice? with your power?
How will you answer in the case of this Palestinian genocide? In this Palestinian apartheid? Please, fight for what is right. Fight for the preservation of human life, Fight for Palestine.
Thank you all for your time and consideration. God bless you all.

Dear Esteemed Members of the Fresno City Council,
I trust this message finds you well. I am reaching out to you as a concerned Fresno resident deeply troubled by the ongoing conflict in Gaza, and I am writing to urge our city to take a stand for peace by adopting a ceasefire resolution.
It heartens me to see cities across our nation, including San Francisco, Oakland, Richmond, Cudahy, Bridgeport, Wilmington, Atlanta, Detroit, Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, Hamtramck, Ypsilanti, Albany, Akron, and Providence, coming together to address the situation in Gaza.
They exemplify unity in advocating for a ceasefire and diplomatic resolutions to address the pressing issues in the region.
I believe that Fresno, too, can contribute to this collective effort by adding its voice to those calling for an end to hostilities. While our city may not directly influence international affairs, the symbolic act of support through a ceasefire resolution can make a significant impact.
I kindly request the City Council of Fresno to consider and endorse a resolution urging an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. By doing so, we not only stand with other cities but also highlight our commitment to peace and humanitarian values.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope Fresno will join the growing movement toward a more compassionate and peaceful world.

Dear Fresno City Council Members,
I respectfully, pleadingly urge you to call for a permanent immediate ceasefire. Killing civilians indiscriminately is a war crime. Killing hundreds of Israeli citizens by Hamas is a war crime. Killing tens of thousands of Palestinian civilians, babies, entire families by Israel is an even greater war crime. There is no justification for it. We must prevent further senseless death with an immediate ceasefire. Every day more innocent Palestinians are murdered. They are suffering immensely, and starving to death. Time is crucial. A ceasefire is the only way to ensure release of all hostages and a path towards lasting peace. And please remember that this did not start on Oct 7, 2023. There have been 75 years of violent oppression committed against Palestinians by the Israeli government.
Regards
Cecile Kim

Good afternoon,
Submitting a public comment in support of a ceasefire resolution by the city of Fresno! The current human rights violations in Gaza are unconscionable, and I believe that every US city and government leader should add their voices to the growing demand for a ceasefire (just like Long Beach, Oakland, and other CA cities already have).
Thank you,
Josh

I’m proud of Fresno and the community that has been built. I also want to add my voice and unwavering support for: a ceasefire in Gaza, the US to stop supplying Israel with weapons, and an end to the occupation in Palestine.
2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza are living through genocide as Israel bombs, starves, and displaces them. From Gaza to Jenin, we've witnessed Israel's massacres of Palestinians again and again. Over 30,000 lives have been killed with our tax dollars.
An immediate, permanent ceasefire is the only way to stop the killing. I support a permanent ceasefire, along with 64 members of Congress, and also a 61% maority of American voters, as found in a recent poll by Data for Progress.
In the city council meeting (1/11), please:
- publicly call for a permanent ceasefire, along the lines of the Ceasefire Now resolution in the House, H.Res. 786, led by Rep. Cori Bush. - vote YES on Sen. Bernie Sanders's resolution to stop sending weapons to Israel for genocide.
- vote NO on the $106 billion supplemental funding package to send $14.3 billion in more weapons to Israel and $8 billion for border militarization.
This is a genocide and I pray the city of Fresno does everything in our power to do what’s right and moral.
Best,
Christina Quintanilla
