WHEREAS, the Fresno Chapter, 108 of the National Association of Women in Construction has distinguished itself for 25 years as the voice of women in construction in Fresno, CA; and
WHEREAS, the work done by the Fresno Chapter, 108 has benefited Fresno, CA and the surrounding valley through community development and educational programs; and scholarships to students at Fresno City, Fresno State and other, local City Colleges in Construction related fields of study; and
WHEREAS, the Fresno Chapter, 108 has unceasingly promoted the employment and advancement of women in the construction industry and promoted women in the industry; and
WHEREAS, the construction community, represented by the Fresno Chapter, 108, has been a driving force in fostering community development through renovation and beautification projects; promotion of skilled trades careers; and a positive vision of the future; and
WHEREAS, the Fresno Chapter, 108 has sought to achieve successful results for Fresno, CA and surrounding areas in a cooperative spirit with other organizations.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that we, Mayor Jerry Dyer and the Council of the of the City of Fresno, do hereby recognize the Fresno Chapter, 108 and its many dedicated volunteers for its steadfast work and their support of women in construction, and do proudly proclaim the week of March 3-9, 2024 as “Women in Construction Week” and encourage our citizens to congratulate them on their many accomplishments. “Women in Construction Week”
