CITY OF FRESNO

WHEREAS, the Fresno Elite Trypticon and the Fresno Elite Bombshell are two competitive cheer teams each composed of 2 male and 5 female athletes; and
WHEREAS, the Trypticon and Bombshell teams are led by Co-owner and Head Coach LJay Ramirez, Co- owner and Director of Operations Matthew Ramirez, and Assistant Coach Flavilla Singleton. Both teams receive unwavering support from all three coaches, as well as supporting staff who volunteer their time to ensure the success of the Fresno Elite teams; and
WHEREAS, the Trypticon and Bombshell teams are dedicated to investing between 10-12 hours a week to practice their routines, strengthen their skills, and develop new skills to remain competitive. This year, Trypticon and Bombshell have achieved remarkable success, securing over ten 1st place titles, four-level championship titles, and two grand championship titles , including The Quest National Championship . These championship-winning teams embody the spirit and enthusiasm of Fresno; and
WHEREAS, the Quest, hosted by Varsity Spirit, is an exclusive event in Orlando , Florida at the ESPN Wide World of Sports at Disney World. The Quest is an invite-only competition featuring over 300 teams competing in different divisions. To earn an invitation, teams must secure a bid from a Varsity Spirit event held throughout the season. Teams are evaluated based on execution, technique, difficulty, and effective crowd-leading skills; and
WHERE AS, both Trypticon and Bombshell won their respective bids and competed at The Quest National Championship. At The Quest, Fresno Elite Team Trypticon took 1st place in the nation, competing in the age group 14-year-old and under level 1 division, while Fresno Elite Team Bombshell took 3 rd place in the nation, competing in the age group 10–18-year-old level 2 division.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that we, Council President Annalisa Perea, Mayor Jerry P. Dyer and the City Council do hereby proclaim March 21st, 2024, to be:
“Fresno Elite Cheer Team Championship Day”
in the City of Fresno .
