WHEREAS, Christina Musson is a Fresno native and graduate of Edison High School. She is a proud wife and a mother of two children; and
WHEREAS, her journalism career started at New York University where she studied Broadcast Journalism and Theatre Arts. Living and working in New York City, Christina witnessed the events of September 11, 2001, as well as the August 2003 blackout; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Musson has been the AM weekday traffic reporter and producer for the Ray Appleton Show for KMJ, produced the morning and midday shows at KMPH Fox 26 in Fresno, reported at KAPP ABC 35 in Yakima, Washington and for KGPE CBS 47 in Fresno from 2006- 2009; and
WHEREAS, Christina joined KMJ in September 2009 and began co- hosting the Broeske and Musson Show from 9am-11am in 2015; and
WHEREAS, Christina Musson is a two time National Gracie Award winner for Local Radio Co- Host for the 2023 and 2024 Small/Medium Market of the Year . The Gracies are presented annually by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation. This award honors women who have inspired in the entertainment industry and this award was established in 1975 named after the late comedian and businesswoman Gracie Allen.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that we, Mayor Jerry Dyer and the Fresno City Council, do hereby honor and recognize you for your hard work and dedication to Journalism Excellence and proclaims Thursday, April 18th 2024 to be:
