Aaron Aguirre, PARCS Director
2600 Fresno Street
Fresno, CA. 93721

Dear Mr. Aguirre,
Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission Advance Peace Fresno is the grant subrecipient for the Bureau of Justice Assistance Byrne Discretionary Grant to provide reimbursement for mental health services for Advance Peace Fellows and violence impacted individuals in amount not to exceed $270,000. Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission does not offer mental health services via an employee or contractor at a level of service that would fall under the California Board of Psychology Laws and Regulations 2024 edition. The services outlined by the Bureau of Justice Administration grant obtained by Rep. Jim Costa through the City of Fresno have been and would be delivered similar as our social services counseling. If we encounter situations in which someone in crisis or an active participant is observed to require services that our agency cannot provide, the Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission Advance Peace Fresno will refer to a local licensed healthcare practitioner.

Thank you for your request and if you need further information or clarification, please feel free to reach out directly.

Respectfully,

Emilia Reyes, MBA
Chief Executive Officer
Fresno Economic Opportunities Commission
